A database application for running a music festival (venues, events, artists, buyers and tickets), with the business rules in PL/SQL and a public Oracle APEX interface.

About the project

A database application for running a music festival: venues, events, artists, buyers and tickets.

The data model and queries are in SQL, the business rules live in PL/SQL packages and triggers, and an Oracle APEX app sits on top.

What it does

  1. 01

    Relational schema

    Five tables for venues, events, artists, buyers and tickets, plus views, indexes, sequences and synonyms.

  2. 02

    Queries

    Joins, group functions, CASE and DECODE, and Flashback for recovering data.

  3. 03

    PL/SQL packages

    Two packages, pkg_festival and pkg_vanzari, with implicit, explicit and parameterized cursors and custom exceptions.

  4. 04

    Triggers

    Checks on ticket prices, a lock on events that were cancelled, and a venue capacity check.

  5. 05

    Oracle APEX app

    A web interface built on the same database.
